Introduction
The Mazeed phase marked my first true exposure to the intersection of technology, government projects, and strategic thinking beyond pure design execution.
This stage reshaped my understanding of what it means to build long-term, vision-driven solutions rather than delivering short-term creative outputs.
Context
Mazeed operated within a highly dynamic technology environment, during a period when Egypt was actively moving toward digital transformation.
The work was closely tied to large-scale initiatives involving:
- Government entities
- Semi-government institutions
- Public–private partnerships (B2G)
At the same time, I was immersed in a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly through the Greek Campus, where exposure to startups, innovation communities, and events like RiseUp Summit played a major role in shaping my mindset.
This environment significantly deepened my understanding of:
- Product thinking
- User-centric solutions
- The real impact of technology when applied to societal and governmental challenges
My Role
My role at Mazeed extended far beyond website design or visual execution.
I was actively involved in:
- Business Development initiatives
- Preparing strategic presentations for high-level projects
- Contributing to solution ideation from both a technical and user perspective
- Supporting decision-making through visual communication and structured storytelling
This role required me to operate at the intersection of:
- Commercial strategy
- Technology vision
- Cross-stakeholder communication
It was a defining shift in my professional trajectory.
Personal Growth & Impact
This phase:
- Introduced me to the world of government-driven digital projects
- Reinforced the idea that design is not decoration, but a decision-making tool
- Transitioned my mindset from being a “designer” to a strategic contributor who understands the bigger picture
It also marked the beginning of my long-term professional journey with Omar Bassem, who became — and remains — a key mentor in my life.
His influence played a critical role in shaping my ambition, perspective, and confidence in navigating complex, high-impact projects.
Mazeed was a foundational chapter — mentally and professionally.
Without this stage, none of the chapters that followed would have been possible.
